About Us

We are Matooke Design.

We make what we’d like to think are fresh, unique, high-quality, fashion accessories, and alleviate poverty in the process.

We provide jobs for individuals from various educational backgrounds and economic needs including college graduates, village homemakers of all ages, and uneducated young adults. Our goal at Matooke is to bring together a workforce that creates a community of people that might not otherwise cross paths.

We sow knowledge, teach business structure and quality control, and help increase the demand for brilliantly designed consumer goods in the local market and abroad. This allows our partners to train and employ a larger workforce that understands business, research and development, innovation, quality control, and customer service.

Employees become skilled at organizing a budget for the home and the workplace, figuring out expenditures and profit and discover ways to make sure the money they make this week will last and learn how to create a savings to invest in their future, their children’s future, and their country’s future.

We feed creativity and assist the individuals that we work with to lead teams in training exercises, teach others their craft, help us grow the business, and most importantly inspire change in their own communities.

But, when it comes down to it, we are a family business; just a couple of American girls and an amazing network of Ugandan women and men, working in solidarity to promote economic and personal growth in our communities and the world.
